You've picked the right computer, protected it, updated it, cleaned out useless litter, improved ease-of-use, set up Net access, added important software, and enabled remote desktop access. What's left?

Simple - make sure you have recorded all the relevant numbers, and made copies of important materials you may someday need to help play remote tech support:

• All product serial numbers and activation keys
  
  
• User IDs and passwords for the computer, Net access, and email
  
  
• Purchase dates and locations
  
  
• Warranties

Now you just have to remember to bring a collection of different length connection cords (USB, Ethernet, power, phone> with you when you go to install it . . . and hope it's the right color!
