Treasure Cove captures the interest of children in the older end of the 5-9 age range, if they like shoot 'em-up style games. But for a five year-old girl and a six year-old boy, their interest required a parent's presence and frequent participation. "No, you do it Dad," was heard frequently with this age range.

Best for...
This program is best suited for 7 to 9 year-olds, again, if they like shoot'em-up, reward-driven games.

Purchase Value
Two years ago, our parent reviewers would have given Treasure Cove a relatively high purchase value, because it tries to link answering questions to reaching a game objective. But educational software has come a long way since then, driven by software developers like The Learning Company. Today, our reviewers gave this program a weak purchase value rating.
