A lively circus theme differentiates this program from similar creativity programs for preschoolers. Kids explore the colorful circus environment where they paint props in the Prop Wagon, create and dress clowns in the Clown Wagon, set up balancing animations with Buddy and his compatriots in the Acrobat Tent, and produce juggling acts in the Juggling Tent. As a culmination to all their clever work, the user creates his or her own lively circus show, selecting the music, entertainers and props to be used, in the Main Tent of "The Big Top".

Educational Value
This is a very simple creativity program, which makes no attempt at teaching or drilling traditional classroom skills. Activities are entirely controlled with the mouse, and involve basic pointing, clicking and dragging only. The program encourages kids to experiment with color, patterns, matching sets, logic and music, and provides pleasing animations as reward for their efforts.

The Buddy Brush CD-ROM comes packaged with a paper activity book and 3-D circus building supplies.

Kid Appeal
Because of the simplicity of this program, it makes a nice first or early experience with the computer for young children. The clowns are cute, the graphics colorful and appealing, and the purportedly historical circus music provides lively accompaniment. "My 3 year-old was delighted that she could navigate and complete the program without help." was one parent reviewer's comment. Older kids and those who have more experience with computer software may find the program too limited and become quickly bored by it.

Ease of Use / Install
Installation involves one click. There's no mystery to using this program, it's created with beginning users and short attention spans in mind.

Best for... / Bottom-Line
There's not really a lot to this program, but it is cute and clever and guaranteed to elicit a smile.
