All New Trivia Munchers Deluxe
Joins Popular "Munchers" Line of Educational Software
FREMONT, Calif. -- November 21, 1996 -- The Learning Company, Inc. (NYSE: TLC) today launched Trivia Munchers Deluxe under the MECC brand. This all new, fast-action trivia game for children ages eight to 14 joins the popular "Munchers" series of educational software. Trivia Munchers Deluxe is available now on CD-ROM for Windows and Macintosh for an estimated retail price of $24.99 with street prices ranging from $19.99 to $23.99.More than a traditional trivia game, Trivia Munchers Deluxe challenges quick wits as kids must outmaneuver the troublesome Troggles on a mission to solve a variety of trivia questions. The familiar arcade-style format and 74 kid- appealing categories -- Animal Kingdom, Sports, Astronomy, Health and Diet, Music, Geography and Famous People -- keep players engaged as they learn.
"Trivia Munchers Deluxe has all the elements that make a question-and-answer game exciting and engaging to kids in this age range. Trivia Munchers Deluxe offers single or multi-gameplay, five levels of difficulty, more than 3,200 intriguing trivia questions and voice and sound capabilities that take full advantage of CD-ROM technology. As the game begins, players are challenged to answer questions in the category they selected. Kids must then guide the answer-hungry Muncher, to the correct response, while outwitting a host of antagonizing Troggles. Once players complete a few boards, they are rewarded with animated sequences depicting historical events such as the flights of Amelia Earhart, Betsy Ross and the making of the American Flag and space travel to the moon.

Trivia Munchers Deluxe requires an IBM or compatible or Macintosh computer with a hard disk, double-speed CD-ROM drive or better and mouse. The Windows version requires a 486/50 MHz or higher; Window 95 or Windows 3.1 or higher; 256-color SVGA display; 4 MB RAM (8 MB recommended for Windows 3.1 and required for Windows 95); Windows compatible sound card.
