PRESS RELEASE FROM SGP Systems

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIE
A Brand-New Picture Programming Language
for Kids, Youth and Adults

Two revolutionary easy and creative programming tools for kids, youth and adults "Baltie 2.0" and "Baltie 3.0" have been launched by SGP Systems. Both Baltie tools use language-independent programming commands - graphic icons only. With the 119 Baltie's graphic commands you have the same possibilities like with Pascal or C programming languages and even more - there are commands for animations, multimedia, pictures etc. Baltie enables to write a very short source code of your program. For example a very simple text editor represents only 7 (!) commands of the Baltie's source code.

Baltie means a break-point in children's attitude to computers because it makes a new way in computer literacy gaining. Baltie encourages logical thinking and creativity and is intended for all who'd like to know how computers and programs work or who'd just like to create their own programs for fun.

How does Baltie work

In Baltie's environment, users communicate with computer through a small magician Baltie who realizes their commands. Baltie's commands are squared icons that are universal for all users on all the world so that they can exchange their programs worldwide and learn each from other. The program runs in 4 modes (from the lowest to the highest):

The programs are created by grouping the commands with mouse like children's bricks. Baltie's commands library contains 119 commands for controlling the magician, cycles, decision-making, working with variables, graphics, animations, sounds, counting, texts and working with files. Baltie includes also a graphic editor where users can prepare the graphics for their programs.

The company organizes an annual competition in programming for children and youth sponsored by CHG Toshiba. This year, the final show took place at the international computer trade-fair INVEX COMPUTER in Brno (Czech Republic, Europe, on October 8th) where children presented their works in the presence of media (Czech TV, computer magazines etc.).
