Ease of Installation
Far better than average for a PC CD. The only choice the user has to make during the install, is how much of the CD to transfer to the hard drive of his system. We selected the small installation (Microsoft calls this the "slow" version), and had no complaints about the speed of subsequent searches. Installation requires a minimum of 3.5 MB of hard disk storage.
Pluses...
+ Very clean user interface -- no confusing tiny icons here!
+ User can copy anything in Encarta into user's own word processor
+ Simple search tool
Minuses...
- Content seems somewhat narrower and shallower than other CD Encyclopedia
- Need to remember to look for pull-down menus
Overall
An easy to use, well-assembled reference tool
